Rev. Steve Easterday-McPadden:
BUMP Truck
I lift up an invitation/opportunity to the Annual Conference to support one of our Native American ministries in the Mountain Sky area.
Blackfeet United Methodist Parish has been offered a 2007 one-ton diesel pickup to be used in the agri-ministries with people of the reservation and the community of Browning, Montana.
Calvin Hill, the Navajo pastor, estimates they will need $9,000 to purchase the truck [$6500] and maintain it for one year.
The Utah / Western Colorado United Methodist Women and the district Committee on Native American Ministries are prepared to give receipts in $5 increments for contributions and will randomly select a representative of all donors who will be given a hand-beaded cross and flame necklace.
Checks can be made out to "Blackfeet United Methodist Parish" and dropped off at the the U/WC UMW and U/WC district Committee on Native American Ministries table in the ministry displays area outside the ballroom - or given to someone attending the Conference Office at the hotel.
