Throughout the Annual Conference session, we will grapple with a question, “What are issues related to hunger and access to clean water in our neighborhoods, states, region, and world, and how can we order our lives and ministries to respond with the hands of Jesus?”
As part of the Annual Conference theme “Food & Water Insecurity and Justice,” we will engage in education, direct mission opportunities and advocacy.
This year's keynote speaker will be Rev. Alexia Salvatierra, a pastor in the ELCA with over 35 years of experience in community ministry including grassroots organizing, community development, and legislative advocacy. During her time with us during the Annual Conference Session, Rev. Salvatierra will speak specifically to the ways in which we as people of faith can engage their communities around food and water insecurity. Click here for more
Mission Immersion Project
On Friday afternoon from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 16, conference attendees will immerse themselves in an afternoon of service, education and advocacy in the Denver metro area focusing on issues of food security and clean water.
On Saturday, June 17 from 2:30 to 5 p.m., conference attendees will participate in a Community Café. In each Café people will have an opportunity to hear stories from a panel of two to three people engaged in the ministry area and learn about ways to involve local communities. This will also be a time to share any feedback and to commit to engage with ministry on the margins.
If you have not signed up for the Immersion Project and Community Café please sign up here. If you have not signed up by Thursday, June 1, a choice will be made for you.
