Exploring, dreaming and discovering in the Mountain Sky Conference

" … Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." ― Mark Twain

Explore.

The key to exploring is curiosity. There has to be a reason why we explore, and the more we are curious about the community around us, the more exploration and adventure will come our way. It’s the whole "road less traveled" concept. Why is it important to take the road less traveled? Because it "makes all the difference."

Ask good questions about your church and community. It just might start a new adventure.

Dream.

Dreaming while exploring is necessary; just make sure to keep your eyes open. Dreaming will be the fuel that drives you forward. Dreaming is taking curiosity and placing tangible and visual qualities to it. You insert yourself and others into the exploration. You see what can be.

Let imagination inspire your dreaming. When was the last time you dreamt about your church/community?

Discover.

What we encounter along our dream-fueled exploration will only transform us through discovering. Observation is one thing; experiential discovery will never leave you the same. Take into your hands what you have dreamt and explored. When you discover it; it is yours.

What is one thing you can try based upon your dream?

Photo of Utah clergy and leadersAs mentioned before in an introductory email, I have been exploring our conference since July 1. I spent time in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Utah. I met with incredible clergy and laity. I dreamt with you. I had deep and heartfelt conversations about people’s hopes and challenges. Now is when we get to discover together. As I continue to listen and learn, please share with me how I can support you on your exploration. I am here for you.  Our team is here to provide any encouragement, resources, and hope as you begin your exploration.
