The Wesley Foundation is an open-minded, casual but very intentional and reverent United Methodist campus ministry at the University of Colorado at Boulder. In our unique setting on Folsom Street across from the CU stadium, we encourage students to explore their beliefs. For over 100 years Wesley has served the students and broader community of the University.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Is an ordained Elder or Deacon of the UMC; someone who is in the UMC process toward commissioning or ordination; or a UMC layperson with experience in campus or young adult ministries.
*Has a passion for campus and young adult ministry and life coaching.
*Develops, organizes, and runs student ministry programs during the week.
*Is a good preacher to students and young adults.
*Is able to minister to students in spiritual formation.
*Is theologically progressive and Is eager to lead a reconciling, open and affirming campus ministry.
*Thrives in a dynamic, changing environment.
*Is creative, innovative, and risk-taking.
*Has strong media/technological skills.
*Works to promote the Wesley Foundation to students, churches, and the broader community.
*Is a person of integrity and must pass a background check to the board's satisfaction.
*Is willing to serve half-time for an Interim year, with the possibility of an extension of time or a raise in compensation, depending upon circumstances.
*Half time compensation as offered in the Mountain Sky Conference.
*A parsonage in the heart of Boulder immediately adjacent to the Foundation and the CU campus.
