Director of Connectional Ministries

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and meets with the Community Response Team at minimum on a quarterly basis to identify and respond to community needs and social justice issues in the most effective and impactful ways
  • Develops and administers a church-wide system for recruiting, interviewing, training, supervising, and recognizing those who serve, utilizing their identified spiritual gifts
  • Creates and implements process to identify, engage, and connect guests, increasing guest retention
  • Captures stories of people impacted by the ministries of the church and those putting their faith into action, creatively sharing their stories with the congregation and community
  • Resources director level staff and ministry leaders to equip and empower people to serve in their ministry areas to increase potential for ministry longevity and fruitfulness
  • Acts as liaison to community agencies who are aligned with our mission/vision and encourages church partners to serve within these agencies
  • Leads and coordinates annual SERVE Sunday with the Community Response Team, community agencies, and other churches with the purpose of living our faith and building relationships with our community
  • Trains, coordinates and oversees the Hospitality Team, Wheels to Worship and Safe Parking Initiative
  • Ensures pews are appropriately stocked with approved ministry information
  • Ensures background checks are performed where necessary and appropriate
  • Attends weekly staff and worship planning meetings
  • Attends quarterly Ministry Council meetings
  • Participates in team development events and annual leadership development events
Administration
  • Develop and monitor annual budget
  • Use of the ADP system for Paid Time Off requests
  • Facilitate and engage the faith community through our various communication mediums:
    • Email
    • Social Media
    • Consistent updates on the Broomfield UMC website
    • Video
  • Use of the Broomfield UMC network to store all ministry files
  • Effective use of the church database, Servant Keeper
Qualifications:
  • Passion for connecting people to Jesus, each other, and the community
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience
  • At least three years of career-track work experience
  • Advanced technology skills for social media
  • Experience engaging, equipping, empowering and appreciating volunteers
  • Experience working with community leaders and nonprofit executives
  • Flexibility of work hours including availability on Sunday, Easter and Christmas Eve
This position must be proficient in the following areas:
  • MS Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel
  • MS Teams
  • Google Drive
  • Planning Center
  • Servant Keeper
  • Teaching and training skills
  • Ability to inspire
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills including intergenerational skills

 Compensation/Benefits:
Compensation is based on experience. Salary starts at $60,000 annually. This position is eligible for accrued paid-time-off (PTO), up to 12 paid holidays off annually (depending on typical work schedule), eligibility for participation in Pension Plan (3% Employer Contribution) after one year of service, access to participate in Group Health Insurance (90% Employer/10% Employee) and access to participate in Disability/Life/Dental Insurance Plans (100% Employer Paid).
