Within and beyond PHUMC: Create and continue to evolve a vision and strategic plan for innovative, comprehensive communications and branding within and beyond PHUMC ❖ Within the PHUMC community (in-person and virtual): Work with ministry team to plan and produce weekly worship bulletins, both electronic and print Design, create, curate and distribute weekly and monthly newsletters Lead the development of booklets, programs, brochures, banners and posters,etc Prepare special bulletins/programs for workshops, special meetings and worships such as funerals, weddings, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Easter, etc. Design and maintain supply of envelopes, letterheads, postcards, business cards, new member/leadership/staff orientation packets, etc Be the first point of contact in the church office, and via emails or phone calls. Greet visitors, salespeople, members, persons requesting a pastor, etc. and assist them accordingly. Answer phone calls, emails or any incoming communications and connect to appropriate staff or lay leadership Oversee the telephone and voicemail systems Order, shop for and maintain office supplies Oversee maintenance and use of copier(s) and printer(s) Maintain signage inside and outside such as the Montview marquee, the electronic screens located in the coffee bar and the Glencoe Entrance, and other signage as needed ❖ Beyond PHUMC to Community at Large Design, curate and maintain the church’s website, social media accounts, publications Maintain, update, grow, and create as needed the church’s social media accounts/presence including but not limited to Facebook and YouTube Monitor and respond to inquiries in the general church email account Lead the development of worship booklets, programs, brochures, banners and posters ❖ Additional responsibilities Work with and support the Pastors, Staff, Church leaders, Church Members and others as needed
QUALIFICATION Requirements: Passion for creativity and the work such as curating a digital footprint, communications, branding, graphic design. Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field Experience working with a diverse group of people Two or more years’ experience in office management Strong communication skills with the ability to interact in a positive and effective manner with a diverse group of church members, church employees, community members, and other contacts Excellent time management and organizational skills The ability to develop and train volunteers Proficiency in social media, website design and management, creative apps such as Canva, etc Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Publisher and Google Docs
ACCOUNTABILITY: The Communications Manager reports directly to the Lead Pastor. An annual performance review will be conducted by the Lead Pastor in connection and dialogue with the Executive Pastor, church staff, lay leadership and the Staff/Parish Relations Committee.
WORK SCHEDULE: A 25–30-hour (total hours to be determined) work week, both in the office and remotely depending on the church needs. Actual hours and work location will be negotiated and 2 discussed at the time of offer. Hours may be adjusted based on the operational needs of the faith community with the approval of the Lead Pastor.
SALARY RANGE: $25,00 - $35,000 BENEFITS: Please note that while the church does offer holidays, vacation, sick and compensatory time, the church cannot offer life insurance, short- or long-term disability or comprehensive major medical insurance. However, we do offer a stipend to a medical insurance package.
