Extended Summer Custodian

Job Details

• Salary:  Up to $18.50/hr depending on experience
• Job Type:  Part Time:  32 hr/week from April 1 – October 31 - Negotiable

• Part time position – benefits not applicable

• Honesty and ethics

• Ability to work unsupervised
• Possess a high school education
• Good cleaning skills
• Language requirements – must speak enough English to understand assignments and explain problems encountered
• Lift up to 40 lbs.

• DAILY
  • Check bathrooms and clean
  • Empty all trash cans in church
  • Check and replace light bulbs as needed in all areas of the church, except for the Sanctuary
  • If light bulbs are out in the Sanctuary, report which bulbs are out to Director of Operations & Logistics
  • Pick up trash in entry ways as needed
  • Work with Director of Operations & Logistics for weekly meeting schedule and tables and chairs setups
  • Check with Director of Operations & Logistics so that tables and chairs can be set up accordingly for various meetings
  • Vacuum as needed in all areas of the church
  • While school is in session, clean all downstairs bathrooms that are used by PDO
  • While school is in session, vacuum downstairs hallways

• WEEKLY
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas of the church
  • Mop all tile areas of the church
  • Check all trash and recycling receptacles in the church
  • Clean windows in hallways, all entrances and conference room
  • Dust all furniture in Sanctuary
  • Dust pews, organ, piano, pulpit, dry mop altar floor, etc.
  • Wipe off table tops in classrooms not used by PDO
  • Clean Pastors’ offices
  • Spot clean all carpeted areas of the church
• MONTHLY
  • Clean all window sills and blinds
  • Vacuum all sanctuary pews and kneeling cushions on altar
  • Check and replace pegs on bottom of stacking chairs as needed
  • Order cleaning, maintenance supplies
  • Watch for bugs and rodents in church
  • Make minor repairs to tables, chairs and other equipment
  • Clean Pastor offices and staff areas including small staff kitchen
• ONCE DURING SUMMER
  • Wash windows inside and outside as needed
  • Strip all tile floors of old wax and re-wax
  • At the finish of the school year clean all classroom spaces
  • Prepare lower level for start of the school year each August which includes extra cleaning in all classrooms and bathrooms
  • All other duties as assigned
