Nursery Worker

Applewood Valley United Methodist Church Nursery Worker
Pay $15.00 per hour

Purpose: To provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the aged 0-4 children while at church in a clean environment.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing age-appropriate care, which includes: feeding, changing diapers, escorting children to the bathroom, and maintaining a safe environment while interacting with the children.
 
Nursery workers should arrive by 8:30 AM each Sunday. Nursery workers will stay until the children are secured with a responsible adult named on the child’s registration (by 11:30 AM). The opportunity for extra work will be announced at least four weeks before the event. If the nursery worker is available, it could include Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Christmas Eve services. If you choose to work extra at these events, the hour(s) of the nursery will be specified. You will provide the nursery coordinator with a list of your monthly hours.
 
In an emergency, the security ushers must be notified via the church communication system.
 
Straighten the room and clean any toys/beds. A sanitizing solution will be available to use in the nursery.
 
Report to the nursery coordinator any issues which are hindering the carry out of the duties and responsibilities.
 
Communicate in advance, by phone, to the nursery coordinator planned absences with an advance two-week notice or any unplanned absences at least two hours before church service.
 
Dependability is essential. Tardiness and excessive absences will result in termination of employment.
 
 Qualifications:

• Experience in caring for children between the ages of 0 to 4 with the ability to interact with various personalities.
• At least 18 years of age
• Satisfactory completion of background check
• Satisfactory completion of CPR training for infants and children
