Marshall Fire Recovery Navigator

April 21, 2023

The Mountain Sky Conference of the United Methodist Church, in partnership with the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), is providing disaster recovery/case management services for survivors of the Marshall Fire in Boulder County Colorado.  Our team of three needs help and support with Recovery Navigator activities as this program continues. The team is seeking a part time Recovery Navigator for a 4-to-6-month paid assignment.

The Recovery Navigator partners with a disaster affected individual or family (Client) to plan for and achieve realistic recovery goals.  As the primary point of contact, the Recovery Navigator assists each client in coordinating necessary services and resources to address complex disaster recovery needs to move the client in the direction of a safe, sustainable living situation. The Recovery Navigator applies UMCOR’s strengths-based disaster case management model to assist and encourage the efforts of a diverse group of disaster-affected individuals to start, continue or complete individualized recovery processes by facilitating client formulation and prioritization of a plan for recovery containing concrete goals.

The individual in this position will work initially to assist Recovery Navigator’s as they work with their clients through the recovery process.  After gaining insights and experience with this process, this individual will then take primary responsibility for a portion of the Recovery Navigator caseload, working directly with clients.  The majority of this work will be performed in the Louisville, CO Recovery Center office.
