Hilltop UMC was established in Bingham Junction (later known as Midvale) in 1901. By 1978 the congregation had outgrown the church and, after meeting in various temporary locations, what is now the Fellowship Hall at 985 E 10600 S in Sandy served as a place of worship from 1983-1990. The current Sanctuary was dedicated in June 1990. Hilltop is blessed to have been led by many faithful and dedicated ministers and lay clergy, and is known for its local and global mission work, its outreach across denominations, its strong music program, and warm hospitality. Administrative Assistant
Essential Job Functions:
Represents Hilltop United Methodist Church in a positive and professional manner
Ensures phones are answered during scheduled work hours
Warmly greets all visitors and staff, whether by phone, in person, or electronically
Coordinates the use of the property by internal and external groups
Works closely with the Pastor to provide support and assistance, and is detail-oriented. Duties include ensuring accurate scheduling; anticipating needed actions and materials for upcoming services, meetings and events; providing timely reminders
Sends notices and reminders to congregation/groups as directed by the Pastor
Orders and/or picks up: altar flowers for Sunday worship; catering for meetings and celebrations; postage and other supplies as needed
Identifies work room inventory needs and places supply orders accordingly; contacts vendors when equipment needs service; ensures space is tidy and organized
Tracks attendance for Sunday worship, church committee meetings and rehearsals
Regularly updates content on church website: calendar, text, images, etc.
Works closely with staff members to provide graphics, fliers, posters, newsletters, Proclaim slide decks and other materials as required
Sorts and distributes mail
Performs other related duties as assigned. (Please note this job description is not a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities)
Minimum Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education
2+ years' administrative support experience in a professional setting
Intermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite
Strong written skills- accurate spelling and grammar
Respectful treatment of all persons; discretion; excellent customer service skills
Valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation required
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a church office
Experience/proficiency using Church Windows, Constant Contact and Proclaim
Experience updating website content
Work Environment: Work is performed in-person, onsite at Hilltop United Methodist Church, 985 E 10600 S | Sandy UT 84094. The work environment is that of a typical administrative office. Reasonable accommodation will be made to allow differently-abled individuals to perform the essential functions.

Job Type: Part-time Pay Range: $20-$22 per hour, commensurate with qualifications Benefits: 8 days paid vacation per year, eligible after 6 months Schedule: 24 hours per week, Monday-Thursday | 9:00 am -3:30 pm (includes 30-minute lunch break)
