Faith Formation Preschool Teacher (part-time)

St Andrew Preschool Faith Formation Teacher

General Description: 
• Prepare and present weekly Bible lesson to preschool groups, ages 2 – 5. 
• 10 – 15 hours per week; schedule to be set with Preschool Director
• $18 – 20 an hour; based on experience and credentials
• Report to Preschool Director

Key Responsibilities:
• Implement the curriculum scope and cycle determined by Children’s Ministry Team
• Collaborate with Children’s Ministry Team in lesson planning, methodology and resource selection 
• Embrace curiosity, questions and imagination as key components of faith formation 
• Plan engaging and developmentally relevant lessons that demonstrate God’s love for each child
• Creatively present our weekly Bible story to groups of preschoolers (schedule determined by Preschool Director) 
• Teach monthly worship song (provided with curriculum)
• Communicate with preschool staff and families about monthly theme, Scripture verse and Bible stories (using preschool’s communication tools)

Required Qualifications:
• Adherence to the beliefs and practices of the Christian faith
• High School Diploma or GED 
• Early childhood experience
Preferred Educational Experience:
• Familiarity with Godly Play or similar methodology
• A love and appreciation for Scripture
• Education degree or preschool lead teacher qualifications
• Experience in a church or school setting
Expectations:
• National background check
• Attend preschool staff trainings
• First Aid/ CPR certified (course offered annually through the preschool)
• Maintain required trainings
