Director of Project Carino Mental Health Services

Responsibilities
- To provide ongoing service delivery, implementation, administration, assessment and evaluation of Project Carino programs
- To be available to provide individual, family, group clinical counseling and advocacy to all Pre-K through 12th grade students referred by McCurdy Charter School (MCS) principal, teachers, parents, or students themselves and to provide the same services through the MMCC Pre-K program
- To provide psychological consultation with principals, teachers and parents concerning student needs
- To provide training for staff on various social and emotional issues as requested by MCS administration
- To provide information on various social and emotional issues during classroom presentations as requested by MCS teachers and principal
- To coordinate and monitor OR designate a qualified intern to coordinate and monitor School Buddies, Peer Mediators, Peer Counselors and Celebrate Survival (when these programs are in operation)
- To provide group and individual generalist and clinical supervision for a New Mexico Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor(s) as well as bachelor and master level interns, once per week and monitor special programs and monitor special programs and events as assigned by the Director
- To collaborate with universities in providing competent and practical field experiences for Counseling Interns, Social Work Generalist Interns (SW) and Social Work Clinical Interns (MSW)
- To directly provide best practice crisis prevention and intervention
- To work closely with the nurse and health education staff at MCS and program directors that serve children and youth at MMCC
- To participate with other staff members of MMCC to provide a cohesive team engagement that strengthens the various ministries of MMCC in the community of Espanola and the greater Espanola Valley
- To plan with and oversee volunteers who assist with facility maintenance and programs as needed
Job duties are for ten (10) months (August-May), five days per week by contract. Salary and benefits are intended to be congruent with the diverse qualifications and experience that the candidate would bring to the position of Director of Project Carino in Espanola, New Mexico.
Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Social Work or Clinical Counseling
2. New Mexico Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor
3. English/Spanish bilingual ability preferred
