Associate Pastor of Family and Pastoral Ministries - Montrose UMC, Montrose, Colorado

The Montrose United Methodist Church (MUMC) in Montrose, Colorado is searching for an Associate Pastor/Deacon for Family and Pastoral Ministries. The incumbent would be responsible for developing and coordinating all aspects of family ministries at MUMC including all youth ministries and programs (nursery – 12th grade). In addition to family ministries, the incumbent would assist the senior pastor as a worship leader and would be active in visitation and everyday pastoral responsibilities.

The MUMC envisions a comprehensive approach to the development and implementation of family and youth ministry at all levels in the connectional system of the United Methodist Church and in all ministry areas of the local church.  The person selected will need to be experienced and passionate about meeting the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of children of all ages along with establishing a program that meets those same needs for young families.  The person selected will need to be creative and imaginative enlisting community support, managing volunteer efforts, and serving as a leader with a vision to grow youth and family programs while serving our churches purpose of being a light in our neighborhood and community.

This position will be full time, salaried with paid vacation as well as other benefits to be discussed with the selected candidate. To qualify you must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study as a minimum. Professional certification in youth ministries in the UMC is desired. You must possess a proven ability to work effectively with youth, young families, and teams of volunteers.
