Summary: Strengthen Alumni relationships and increase annual giving.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cultivate relationships with Alumni for the purpose of increasing involvement and giving
- Cultivate relationships with key constituencies such as the United Methodist Annual Conferences, other denominational groups, local churches, and foundations for the purpose of increasing support and gifts.
- Develop a strong alumni council and team of alumni volunteers
- Design and oversee all events for the office of Advancement, including detailed organizational notes, check lists, samples of all printed and digital materials and evaluations.
- Maintain detailed records of alumni contact; feedback and participation
- In collaboration with the Dir. of Communications, develop and implement a plan for regular print, electronic, and social media communication with all alums.
- Collaborate with Webmaster and Dir. of Communications to maintain current, timely and fresh alumni pages.
- Represent and promote CST at community and denominational events
- Visit alumni for the purpose of cultivating generosity and increasing annual gifts. Maintain a Cultivation list of 50 qualified alums capable of giving at an increased level including stewardship of donors who increase their gift
- Develop and maintain Alumni giving incentive programs
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reliable transportation with insurance required.
- Will perform all reasonable duties as requested by supervisor and other authority personnel

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University
- Experience working with Churches, Religious organizatitons, clergy and nonprofit leaders.
- 1 to 3+ years of work related to alumni relations and institutional advancement is preferred
- Event planning experience
- Experience in donor cultivation and fundraising techniques preferred
Language Ability:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are preferred. The successful candidate/employee will be required to use written and/or oral communication. The position requires the ability to write standard correspondence. The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos is necessary. It also requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business memos.
Math Ability:
The position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This requires fundamental math skills, which includes the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
Reasoning Ability:
This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects; proficient in multi-tasking.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Outlook and other appropriate software. Operates a variety of office machines, including copier and fax machine. Must be able to perform at a high level or develop those skills with Raiser’s Edge.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May supervise temporary student positions.
Physical Demands:
This position may require long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. There may also be modest lifting of supplies and materials up to 25 lbs. at times. The use of hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects is required. Must be able to travel by car and pubic transportation, including national and international flights.
