JOB TITLE: Director of Children’s Ministries SUPERVISOR: Lead Pastor
COMPENSATION Work Schedule/Hours: 32 hrs per week negotiable
compensation dependent on experience

Job Description (Prime responsibilities indicated):
  • Advocate for children and families in all aspects of congregational life
  • Coordinate the ministry with children for the congregation
  • Plan, oversee Children’s Sunday School (2 yr. old-6th grade)
  • Recruit, train, and support Sunday School teachers
  • Plan and select Sunday School Curriculum and programs
  • Plan, oversee Vacation Bible School
  • Supervise and support Preschool, Mom’s Day Out, Nursery
  • Lead Children’s Lesson in 9:15 service each week
  • Support and plan Family Worship each month
  • Plan and lead children’s classes during the year
  • Set and enforce Safe Sanctuary policies

  • Plan and oversee following activities:
  • Sunday School Teachers’ Retreat
  • SS Teacher Appreciation
  • Fall Kickoff/Rally Day
  • 3rd grade Bible Sunday
  • Serve as staff liaison to Children and Family Council
  • Annual Easter Egg Hunt
  • Flowering the Cross at Easter
  • Children’s Sabbath
  • Family Movie Night
  • Advent Workshop
  • Participate on Disaster Management Team
  • Stock and maintain Media Center, supplies, etc.
Job Qualifications:
  • A college degree in elementary education, early childhood education, or Christian Education or related curricular area
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with children and their families
  • Computer literacy, organizational skills, and managerial ability, including supervisory duties
  • Business knowledge with good judgment to make sound decisions with the ability to recognize the long term interests of the Church.
