Inspire worship with the triune God through music, spoken/written word, creative/technical arts, creative intentional worship planning, aesthetic atmospheres, and shepherding
Envision and facilitate authentic, dynamic and transformative weekly worship through different styles and formats
Support the worship vision of the Lead Pastor
Create worship that strengthens and aligns with the message themes
Research, develop and support other forms of emerging worship opportunities
Envision, plan and facilitate seasonal events for the congregation and the community
Support and oversee all contemporary vocal ensembles, band and worship teams and their respective leaders
Create and encourage opportunities for social interaction amongst music ministry participants
Teach congregation the role of worship in the church through music, word, story and action
Coordinate and lead the weekly Worship Planning Team
Lead Contemporary Worship services each Sunday and weekly rehearsals
Participate in Traditional Worship as needed
Provide vision to and oversight of technical support teams and contractors
Develop annual strategies for outreach through worship arts events
Develop and control annual budget for Worship Arts
Expand participation of congregation in Worship Arts
Conduct yearly performance reviews of all paid worship and technical team members
Support funerals and memorial services as needed
Attend weekly staff meetings and quarterly Ministry Council meetings
Qualifications:
This position must be proficient in the following areas:
Musical coach (vocal/instrumental) providing guidance and facilitating growth of music ministry participants
Development and growth of youth musicians by including youth in music ministry as their gifts develop
Musical composition, arrangement and creation of rehearsal charts (lyrics, chord charts, lead line, and brass instrument charts), adapted to the skills and abilities of musicians
Foundational skills in live and recorded sound engineering and mixing
Performance and direction of contemporary and traditional religious music, along with the appropriate inclusion of secular music in worship
Strong understanding and application of music copyrights and licensing in a worship setting (CCLI, etc.)
The qualified candidate for this position will have:
Formal music training: BA in Music or equivalent musical training
3 years experience leading bands in a congregational setting
Skills and Abilities:
MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Planning Center Online, Notation software (e.g. Finale, Sibelius)
Video creation and editing software (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Media Shout)
