Responsible for planning and coordinating events in the church, including planning menus, working with families, staff, and clergy, booking talent, putting up decorations, and ensuring the event runs smoothly.
Vary depending on the event. Need to be available when there is a funeral, wedding or special church-wide event that requires an Event Coordinator.
Coordinate details of events such as funerals, weddings, and special church-wide events.
Work closely with families, staff and clergy to plan the events.
Calculate budgets and ensure they are adhered to.
Book talent, including musicians, bands, and audio-visual techs.
Work closely with the Cook, Kitchen, and Hospitality Ministry Coordinator and Funeral Receptions Coordinator to select the menu.
Plan layout of seating and decorations.
Coordinate and monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
Initiates, coordinates and/or participates in all efforts to publicize church-wide events.
Work with the Publications Director to design promotional materials and event invitations.
Negotiate and secure event space.
A well organized, self-motivated, and responsible person.
Have compassion when working with grieving families.
Able to interact well with a wide range of people.
Flexible with schedule to be available to coordinate the planning of a funeral at short notice.
Have at least a high school diploma.
