PLANNED GIVING DIRECTOR
ROCKY MOUNTAIN UNITED METHODIST FOUNDATION, INC.
 
The Rocky Mountain United Methodist Foundation seeks to support churches, agencies, and individuals in their efforts to be faithful stewards of their financial resources. By providing loans for capital improvements, crafting financial strategies, targeting investment vehicles, and educating donors regarding charitable gifts, the Foundation works to strengthen ministries of United Methodist Churches locally and worldwide.  
 
The Foundation is seeking a Planned Giving Director to work with more than 400 United Methodist Churches and agencies in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and Montana, with a focus on the following:

  1. Consult with church leaders about ways to grow existing permanent endowment funds
  2. Consult with church leaders to establish new endowment funds where none existed before
  3. Develop and present informational programs in churches and other gatherings to motivate people to get their Will and estate plan in order, and offer invitations to leave a bequest to the church
  4. Consult one-on-one with donors to help them accomplish their charitable goals related to their United Methodist church
  5. Consult with pastors and church leaders about stewardship
  6. Coordinate and train part-time planned giving field representatives
 
EXPECTATIONS and RESULTS:
  • Church leaders will be informed of Foundation services and persuaded to use one or more services
  • Individual churches will use Foundation programs to establish new endowment funds and to grow existing endowment funds
  • United Methodists (people) will finalize planned gifts, current and future, by creating planned gifts ultimately benefitting church, and designating their church as beneficiaries
  • Annual plan with measurable goals will be established with Executive Director in consultation with the Board of Directors
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Support the missions and visions of the United Methodist Church and the Foundation
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 to 7 years’ experience working with individuals and groups in the areas of wills, endowments, planned gifts, or an equivalent combination
  • Working knowledge of gift annuities, life estates, charitable trusts, major gifts and other planned giving opportunities
  • Comfortable with presenting workshops and seminars about planned giving
  • Available to travel
  • Preferable experience with PCs, Microsoft Office Applications, Crescendo Marketing software, and be familiar with other fundraising and contact manager programs. References and work history with impeccable reviews
