Treasurer - Wheat Ridge UMC, Wheat Ridge, Colorado

Wheat Ridge United Methodist Church, located at 7530 West 38^th Ave., Wheat Ridge, Colorado is seeking a treasurer to begin as soon as possible. This is a part-time position, averaging 20 hours or less per month.

This position is responsible for preparing and distributing monthly payroll for up to ten staff, as well as preparing and distributing W-2 and 1099 Forms; preparing all necessary quarterly payroll reports for the IRS and State of Colorado; preparing invoices for church and on-site preschool; tracking weekly contributions and invoices; preparing checks for signature; reconciling monthly bank statements; preparing monthly financial statements; preparing bank deposits; and preparing and distributing tithing quarterly statements.

An ideal candidate has some experience preparing payroll and conducting bookkeeping in a non-governmental or commercial setting. Proficiency working with accounting software (i.e. Shelby Financial Software, Quick Books, etc.) is preferred, but not required as long as the candidate is computer literate, willing and able to seek on-line training in order to establish proficiency.
