East Angola Pastor Support

The Mountain Sky Conference has had a relationship with the East Angola Conference of the United Methodist Church since 2003. Five Volunteers in Mission teams have visited East Angola since 2003, to help rebuild their churches and communities, to learn how best to be in partnership and to get to know one another. The latest team was in Angola in November 2017. Quessua Methodist Mission

Before the war, Quessua Mission was a center of excellence in the country as it accommodated the best agricultural demonstration farms, poultry and livestock breeding, schools and a hospital.  After the war Quessua was completely destroyed and surrounded by land mines.  With the assistance of mission partners, many infrastructures have been rebuilt and ministries started.  

Quessua School: Presently has about 1,200 students.  Advance #105625

Quessua Agriculture: Missionary Kutela Katembo is the agriculturalist in Quessua and has brought new life to the fields surrounding Quessua Mission. Advance #3022272

Quessua Mission Boarding House: Designed for orphans and students that live far from schools.  Advance #11638N

Quessua School of Theology: Provides seminary training for pastors and training for local pastors.  Advance #11640N

Quessua Women Training Center: Center for training women in practical skills: sewing, nutrition, literacy.  Advance #11639N

Evangelization Ministry: This program is involved the rebuilding of churches destroyed in the war.  Advance #15061A

Pastor Salary Support: Provides a salary of $50 a month to pastors.   Advance #3021453
