Lay Servant Ministries BASIC Course

(Participant’s Book) by Sandy Zigler Jackson & Brian Jackson. This course is foundational for all courses in Lay ServantMinistry. Participants are encouraged to discover and employ personal spiritual gifts as God intended and to consider the importance of exercising servant leadership, developing future leaders, remaining rooted in consistent spiritual practices, and being part of a group that holds members accountable in their discipleship.

For many people, prayer remains a mystery, and praying in public is a test of faith left to the “professionals” of the church. This course on praying in pubic will help the participant grow in confidence and skill in prayer, both public and personal.
6 p.m. Friday
—Check-in, opening, introductions and instructions. Please have dinner before arriving. Snacks will be available.
Facilitators and participants will determine when the Friday sessions will end and set Saturday’s start time, allowing for 10 hours of learning.
Lunch will be provided on Saturday.
It is expected that both classes will end no later than 4 p.m. on Saturday
There is no charge for either course but participants are expected to purchase their own books (available at Cokesbury, Amazon and other sources). Please order well in advance of the course dates to allow time for delivery and review.
A love offering will be taken to cover lunch and expenses.
