JUST LOVE: Interactive Online Lenten Series for six weeks on Sunday evenings through Lent 

5:30 – 6:45 p.m. starting February 21st


Explore justice issues and live into Beloved Community. Here are the topics, presented live and allowing you to engage and ask questions, discuss the issues and work for justice.  

  • Japanese Internment Camps and Generational Trauma:  presented by Japanese American community, along with leaders at Simpson UMC, Arvada, CO.  February 21 & 28. 
     
  • Human trafficking: Kara Napolitano, Research and Training Manager, Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking, Denver, CO.  March 7. 
     
  • Restorative Justice:  Catherine Gunderson, Director, Center for Restorative Youth Justice, Kalispell, MT.  March 14.
     
  • Push Out - Criminalization of Black Girls in School: A 2021 Mission U presentation by ELCA Rev. Melanie Martin-Dent. March 21.
     
  • Immigration “Shoebox Stories” presented by Motus Theater, a unique “story-holding” project, where people stand in another person’s shoes by reading aloud their story, saying their words and feeling the weight they carry.  Bishop Karen Oliveto and Superintendent Jeff Rainwater will read: Cristian Solano-Córdova’s story.  March 28.
