Join the Rocky Mountain Legacy Conference's United Methodist Women for their annual Spiritual Life Retreat May 4-5, 2019 event at Glen Erie Castle and Conference Center in Colorado Springs. This year's event will feature Amy Gearhart of the Mountain Sky Conference!
Sat, May 4
Sunday, May 5
THEME: Dare to Live, Love, and Lead
Our 2019 RMC Legacy UMW Spiritual Life Retreat theme will be Dare to Live, Love, and Lead and will be inspired by the book, Dare to lead: Brave work, tough conversations, whole hearts (2018), by Brené Brown.
Our time together will include a study of biblical womens' stories, our own story-telling, and an exploration of how our daring and courageous discipleship can shape our relationships and leadership. We will be led by Rev. Amy Gearhart, the Mountain Sky Conference Senior Executive for Transition and Conference Culture who joined the conference staff in May 2018 in order to assist the Bishop and conference in facilitating the technical, adaptive, and organizational aspects of becoming a new conference.
Rev. Gearhart is an elder in the UMC from the Missouri Conference who served congregations for over 30 years in Illinois, North Carolina, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Columbia, MO, where she most recently was Senior Pastor of the Missouri UMC. She is completing her dissertation in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis as she researches part-time local pastors and the adjunctification of ministry. She is a certified professional coach and holds certificates in Nonprofit Executive Leadership and College Teaching. She has two young adult daughters and enjoys crafting, traveling, entertaining, and the beauty of the Mountain Sky area.
