Three Simple Rules: A Video Workshop for Staff/Pastor Parish Relations Committees

The Staff/Pastor Parish Relations Committee has a big job, even in easy times. These are not easy times, and effective leadership is crucial as we face many perils in an anxious, ever-changing world. The conference wants to help you! That's why Jeff Rainwater created Three Simple Rules: A Video Workshop for Staff /Pastor Parish Relations Committee hosted on Mountain Sky Ministry Crossroads. Three Simple Rules is a self-paced workshop for groups and individuals including videos, reflection questions, and additional resources.

In the first half of the workshop, we consider John Wesley's three rules for the Methodist societies and see how they still guide us and your work as a committee today: 1) do no harm, 2) do good, 3) stay in love with God. In the second half, we will focus on the big Why (the purpose) of the S/PPRC. We also cover the yearly flow of the committee's responsibilities, especially when a church is expecting the appointment of a new pastor. No training can cover everything. That’s what is so great about a Crossroads workshop. You can engage in an online conversation with others and come back any time to review or see what is new.
