This past year, through the series “This is My Story, This is My Song,” we welcomed siblings within the Mountain Sky Conference and give thanks for their presence, life stories, and wisdom. Through the conversation, we were able to know one another more and explore questions such as: What is Beloved Community? When is it experienced? When have we fallen short? and what are tangible ways, we as followers of Jesus Christ, as United Methodists of the MSC, can participate in building Beloved Community?
Using inspiration from the hymn "Blessed Assurance" and Heritage Months observed in the United States as a starting place, this was an opportunity for deep listening and learning from a panel, consisting of clergy and lay from the MSC.
November was National American Indian Heritage Month and we were honored to welcome the Rev. Calvin Hill and the Rev. Kelly Murdock-Billy. The panel conversation was on Saturday, November 27th and you can access the recording HERE
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Rev. Melinda Baber, the Rev. Araceli Berdugo, the Rev. Guillermo Reyes, the Rev. Sanjuana Reyes, and lay leader Jose Gonzalez. September 15th to October 15th was Hispanic Heritage Month and they were our guest panelists on “This is My Story, This is My Song” on October 9th
. I would like to apologize to our guest panelist and to members of the MSC because I failed to remember to record our time together.
