Steve's background is engineering, early in his career serving 3 years as Operations Manager for a Lutheran camp and retreat center in WA - Holden Village located in the North Cascade Mountains. Afterwards, he launched a 25-year career in healthcare facilities management - primarily in northern Michigan. While raising their family (3 daughters), they connected with camp ministry experiences both at Holden, and at Cedar Campus (Intervarsity Christian Fellowship) in a variety of volunteer roles. Fast forward to "empty-nester land", and Steve and Amy felt the "nudge" to return to camp ministry in full-time capacity - just in time to land at Holden for Covid shut down. Serving as part of a small "caretaker community" - they re-opened the camp to guests this past July. Their two-year assignment coming to a close - they have been on the lookout for what God might have next - and then met the wonderful folks at Luccock - leading to this new adventure!
Amy's background is horticulture, as well as home-school mom - but more recently she has been serving in Program at Holden as Naturalist and Hike Haus - leading educational programs such as stream ecology, foraging, cross country ski lessons, fire ecology, star walks and geology - just to name a few.
In their free time they enjoy backpacking, mountain biking, music and baking pies. They also serve in ministry leading Sunday School, Bible Study and Worship. You can reach Brandon at
