Clergy Orders/Fellowship Event

All pastors (Elders and Deacons- provisional and ordained- Associate Members, and Licensed Local Pastors) in the Mountain Sky are encouraged to register for and attend the Clergy Orders event. With a combination of learning and sabbath, Clergy Orders retreat is designed to offer renewed vigor for ministry along with a renewed sense of community as pastors. Join us and Rev. Trip Lowery, from Discipleship Ministries, as we continue to explore the idea of covenant. We will participate in conversation around what covenant means for us as we live and serve together in our Conference, why covenant is important in our world where social media interactions are more prevalent than ever before in our lifetime, and how covenant will help ensure our longevity serving in this sacred call. We will gather to break bread, to learn, to talk with each other, and to rest. MEF Funds may be used for this event. The cost for Clergy Orders is $65 and includes one dinner and one lunch. This is an in-person event, so the virtual option will be as technology allows and will cost the same.

Add-On: 

Right before Clergy Orders, we will be holding a “Nurturing Beloved Community” or NBC workshop that will earn you 2 CEUs! “Nurturing Beloved Community” is something all of us and our churches believe in and want to live into more fully. This is a continuation of the ministry of the MSC Racial Justice Ministries and Movement team. As we learn more about our history and recognize the role of racist thoughts, policies, and systems, within our communities AND our churches, we know that we must engage in continual learning, practicing being in community, dismantling racism, and nurturing beloved community. Our own amazing clergy will be the presenters!

The NBC workshop will be piloted this September 27th (1pm) through September 29th (1pm) at our Residents in Ministry (RIM) program right before Clergy Orders in Lander, WY. There will be 10 additional seats available for any other clergy who would like to take the lead in helping to form the future of this workshop. Note that there is some required prework, so register early and allow a few hours to prepare ahead of time. Cost is $190 (meals included) plus lodging and travel, but thanks to Methodist Helping Methodist Foundation and MSC Leadership Development, there are grants available to help lower that cost to only $40 for the pilot workshop! All meals are included. The cost of lodging and travel is on your own.
