Ministry serving the community
On Saturday, October 29th, 2022, Platteville UMC gathered laity, clergy, and community members for a day of celebration and thanksgiving for 140 years of ministry. The afternoon gave attendees the opportunity to enage with writings, pictures, and artifacts throughout the years. The formal gathering started with a message and prayer from Bishop Karen Oliveto. She reminded those gathered the many Baptisms, receiving Holy Communion, weddings, memorial services, meals, worship, and Bible Studies and how we anticipate many more years of faithful and transformative service. The time continued with a historical reading from Curtis Monk, music, and fellowship with cake and treats.
Platteville UMC serves the community in various ways, including the Homeless Outreach Cooperative Ministry. Chris' Hugging Scarf's helps funds the ministry. If you are interested in supporting this ministry, please contact Sue States at sstates124@gmail.com.
