MSC Honors Transgender Day of Remembrance

November 30, 2022

Transgender Day of Remembrance took place on November 20th, 2022 to honor and remember those we’ve lost to anti-trans violence in the transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming communities across the world. This year’s TDOR was especially somber following the news of the shooting in Colorado Springs that took place on the eve of TDOR.

Volunteers across the Mountain Sky Conference gathered to organize, plan, and create a TDOR Vigil Service as a way to honor and remember those we’ve lost and to invite all of us into a time of reflection and action to put an end to anti-transgender violence.  This year’s service also included a call to action written by an anonymous transgender youth in the Mountain Sky Service.

We invite you to view the service at the link below as a way to honor those we’ve lost, engage with transgender community, and reflect on how anti-transgender violence harms all of us in our communities. You can also access the 2022 TDOR Service Bulletin by clicking here to follow along in the service and to read the list of names on your time.

Together we pray and actively work toward imagining and creating a world in which all of us are able to live into the authenticity that God has called us to be.
