A Statement From Your Mountain Sky Conference Board of Ordained Ministry
The Mountain Sky Conference Board of Ordained Ministry exists to recruit, develop, and credential those called by God to serve in licensed and ordained ministry. For years, our focus has been on the call, readiness, effectiveness, and theological depth of every candidate. With the outcome of the 2019 General Conference, the Board reaffirms we will not exclude called individuals for reasons outside these parameters.
As we seek to develop leaders for the Church, we humbly defer to God’s wisdom in calling people across the broadest expressions of humanity — including sexual orientation, gender identity, race, theological perspective, physical ability, and age. Such intention on God’s part strengthens and completes the body of Christ. We will continue to thoroughly examine, move forward, and support such candidates and give thanks to God for the called individuals continuing to rise up within our area.
