Sunday morning worship looked a whole lot different Nov. 22 as two teams of mission-minded Bethany United Methodist Church congregants moved from worshiping in the sanctuary to worshiping with their hands and feet. A team of eight led by the Reverend Denise Bender, of Sacred Stones Ministries, Inc., served guests at the Delores Project. Homemade cookies were the biggest hit. The ladies at the Delores Project were very gracious and eager to eat and talk with us. The team felt they had truly been in the presence of the holy as they served and interacted with the guests.

Meanwhile, back at Bethany UMC, Pastor Betty Nguyen led the congregation in a short, traditional service of Thanksgiving ending the morning with card-making for children in the hospital and creating care packages for a soldier and shut-ins. It was a morning for everyone at Bethany UMC to do what they could to serve others in a true spirit of Thanksgiving.
