On May 19, 2019, Brentwood United Methodist Church celebrated Ken Kopatich's 50 years of service to the church's musical ministry. Ken has shared his many talents as a vocalist, saxophone and clarinet player, and leading the church in singing the hymns. Ken has also shared his musical family with Brentwood UMC throughout the years.

His jazz band, Swing Inc., holds open practice at Brentwood UMC twice a month. They are talented musicians who play for their own enjoyment.

During church service, Ken was recognized with a plaque and certificate. After service, there was a reception in the fellowship hall that was attended by the congregation and members of Ken's family, as well as a host of friends. Brentwood offers its heartfelt thanks to Ken for all his years of devotion, and happy to know that he will not be retiring for – hopefully – at least another 50 years.
