College students gather for winter retreat at Buckhorn Camp

Over the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day weekend, students from three campus ministries in Colorado braved snowy roads and chilly temperatures to gather together at Buckhorn United Methodist Camp & Retreat Center. Young leaders and fresh new faces from ministries at the University of Denver, Colorado State University, and the University of Colorado in Boulder spent time reflecting on their spiritual lives in 2015 and preparing for what 2016 has in store.

In addition to the spiritual formation that took place, there was also plenty of time for fun in the snow. Close to a foot of fresh powder created ideal conditions for sledding, snowshoeing, and spending time amid the beauty of the Rocky Mountains in January. Although this was the first conference-wide campus ministry winter retreat that the Rocky Mountain Conference has hosted in many years, it is the hope of Young People’s Ministries that many more will follow.
