Sarah Leavitt is a senior majoring in history at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Sarah is an active leader in the United Methodist College Ministry called Rooted at First United Methodist Church in Durango. Rooted and First UMC have had a great impact in Sarah’s life. During Sarah’s sophomore year, she began to feel a call into full-time ministry. That next summer, she joined the internship program at First UMC.

The program was designed to encourage college students interested in full-time ministry as they walk through their discerning process. Through the internship, Sarah has become even more active in ministry at First UMC. She has preached on several occasions and worked in the church's hospice ministry, youth ministry, and college ministry.

Now in her senior year, Sarah is making a huge impact for the kingdom all the while being a full-time college student at Fort Lewis College. We are grateful for Sarah and the amazing role model she is at First UMC Durango!
