Vital ministry and leadership core processes were the primary topics of discussion during the Mountain Sky Area Joint Cabinet meeting and retreat Jan. 28 to 30 at Longs Peak United Methodist Church in Longmont, Colorado.
Cabinet members collaborated on missional engagement and ministry objectives, with the goal to create a strategy for leadership systems in the Rocky Mountain and Yellowstone conferences. The Joint Cabinet focused on vision, alignment, clarity of mission and outcomes. Other conference leaders were invited to join in the discussions Jan. 29. The challenge for the Mountain Sky Area Joint Cabinet is addressing the systems already in place at both conferences and whether those processes are working to develop and support leaders and congregations.
Cabinet members include Bishop Elaine J. W. Stanovsky, RMC District Superintendents Melanie Rosa (Cabinet Dean), Steve Goodier, Skip Strickland, Sione Tukutau, Margaret Gillikin and Deb Oleynik (RMC and YAC), YAC District Superintendent Kama Hamilton Morton, RMC Director of Connectional Ministry Youngsook Kang, YAC Assistant to the Bishop/Director of Connectional Ministry David Burt, and Mountain Sky Area Vital Congregations Developer Jeremy Scott. Conference leaders who also participated were Laurie Day, RMC Assistant Director of Mission and Ministry, Sally McConnell, Yellowstone Missions Developer, and Charmaine Robledo, Mountain Sky Director of Communications.
