Native American Ministries Sunday is the third Sunday of Easter but can be honored anytime during the month of April. This opportunity nurtures mission with Native Americans and provides scholarships for United Methodist Native American seminarians.
We give thanks and celebrate Native American ministries within the Mountain Sky area and beyond. Thirty-three percent of your support this year will go to Native American Ministries at the General Church level and sixty-seven percent will stay in the Mountain Sky Conference for the continual support of Native American Ministries (CONAM). Pastor Jean Schwien, serving at First UMC in Cortez, CO shares this 3rd VIDEO
"of the United Methodist Navajo COVID Relief Project co-sponsored by Native Grace Fellowship and First UMC of Cortez. It's bi-lingual Navajo/English and depicts the firewood cutting and splitting project that provided heat to more than 200 homes." She shares that "Native Grace Intertribal Fellowship is not only a worshiping community--it is also a powerful mission outreach on the Navajo Nation. Now in its 8th year, Native Grace has weathered the COVID storm and is once again meeting weekly for worship. They are planning their continued mission outreach, hoping to combine repairing homes with teaching young people construction skills."
