Thank you to Geoffrey Gross for his service as the Intern for Congregation Vitality and Leadership for the Mountain Sky Conference, where he has served since September 2020. The focus of his time with the Conference was r
esearching church-size theory and developing a small group curriculum for use within the Conference. Geoff created a Small Church Vitality cohort on the Mountain Sky Ministry Crossroads
, successfully leading a 3-week teaching series and developing a genuine community with the participants. Geoff’s heart is for the small, rural church, and he has a passion for helping those churches realize that they have a vital role in the community.
Annie Arnoldy, Superintendent of Leadership Development and Director of Connectional Ministry, shares,
“I am grateful for Geoff’s perseverance through this COVID year - it was no small challenge. And, I think his calling to the small church has never been more needed. I pray that God will guide Geoff through the next year of school and will continue to lead him toward pastoral ministry.”
Jeff Rainwater, Superintendent of Congregational and Community Vitality, reflected on Geoff's time with the conference: "
Geoff’s passion for the small church is only matched by his gracious presence and pastoral heart. He will always be a part of the Mountain Sky family.”
Geoff commented on his internship as well, saying
"Each church has a story to tell about how they are connected and vital to the communities they serve. They just need to be given the opportunity to tell their stories. It has been a blessing to hear and share these stories."
The Mountain Sky Conference looks forward to shared ministry with Geoff in the future and prays for him as he completes his Master of Divinity at
Iliff School of Theology.
