Members of Vineland United Methodist Church have been making no-sew fleece prayer blankets for many years. The congregation, near Pueblo, Colorado, has distributed more than 400 blankets to date.

These prayer blankets are sent to individuals who have suffered a loss, face a significant health challenge, or are in the midst of a personal crisis. These blankets have reached individuals locally, nationally, and even in three other countries.

A supply of blankets is always available in the sanctuary and the congregation prays over each blanket during their Sunday worship service.

The ministry draws groups from the community to volunteer as well. Recently, members of Vineland’s Nurture and Outreach committee were joined by local 4-H youth to cut and assemble new blankets.
