Vital Conversations: Mission Engagement at Home and Abroad

December 22, 2021
Please join us for a Vital Conversation on Mission Engagement at Home and Abroad on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 11:30 am.
Amanda Daniell, Coordinator of Young People’s & Camping Ministry for the Mountain Sky Conference UMC, will welcome the Rev. Courtney Randall, Mission Advocate for the Western Jurisdiction Global Ministries, UMC, to the discussion.
The Rev. Courtney Randall is a Mission Advocate for the Western Jurisdiction Global Ministries, UMC. Raised in The United Methodist Church, Rev. Randall recalled many disciples who formed and shaped her walk with Christ. “My parents and grandparents provided me with examples of faith journeys filled with service and discipleship.”  The local church provided experiences for engaging in missions both locally and globally.
Rev. Randall considers herself a Pastor and a Missionary. This dual calling allows for understanding of the church beyond the walls.  She has served in United Methodists Churches in North Carolina, Maine, New Jersey, Western MA and Latvia (Eastern Europe).  Serving in a variety of church settings both rural and urban, with large and small congregations, and engaging in mission has been a vital practice of the congregations' discipleship. Rev. Randall has written Service Learning Curriculum for children and youth as well as helped to start and build an Inclusive Teen Center with the support of the local church.
The church is alive when it engages in mission to embrace loving God and loving Neighbor. When we understand the local and global implications of our neighbor we embrace the radical love of Jesus Christ. Connecting with United Methodist Missionaries and Mission Projects gives us an experience and opportunity to be in relationship with the global body of Christ.
