Join Vital Conversations: Our Faith & Legislative Work on March 17 at 11:30 am.
Anti-Transgender and Anti-LGBTQ+ legislation has popped up in state legislatures across the nation. Utah and Montana have heard or are currently hearing a number of Anti-Transgender and Anti-LGBTQ+ Bills in their legislatures. Join Rev. Betty Nguyen, Multicultural and Advocacy Ministries Developer, as she welcomes Court VonLindern, Designer of NextGen & Inclusiveness Ministries, to learn how these bills are impacting our LGBTQ+ youth and young people, and how we as a church can respond to stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ siblings and live up to our United Methodist commitment of pursuing justice, liberty, and dignity for all persons.
As people of faith, we have the responsibility and opportunity to engage in the public square and in the legislative process. We hope that you will join us to learn tangible ways to participate within your community such as how to identify who your elected officials are, ways to contact them, what you can say and/or write.
Court VonLindern is the Designer for NextGen and Inclusiveness Ministries. Court works with our young people, pastors, campus ministers, and camps of the Mountain Sky Conference to provide support, educate, and to engage in issues of inclusion, teen suicide, gender identity and sexual orientation. In addition, they work to provide supportive space for friends and family of LGBTQ+ youth.
