As has been the case for the past three years, there will be a truck at the 2016 RMAC designated site to receive relief supply material for the United Methodist Committee on Relief Office and Depot (UMCOR West) located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This truck is gifted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints free of charge. All UMCOR relief supply kit materials brought to the annual conference session will be loaded on the truck at the lunch break Friday, June 10.
This ministry opportunity has been created as a way to eliminate the cost of mailing supplies from local churches across the annual conference and to promote and celebrate the cooperative relationship shared between The United Methodist Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Please consider having your parish collect relief supply material between now and June and have your pastor or annual conference delegate bring it to the annual conference. The material collected and delivered to UMCOR West will be packaged by UMCOR volunteers in Salt Lake City and sent to the most vulnerable of populations across the globe in our denomination’s humanitarian effort.
For information on the relief materials used at UMCOR West, please visit our website here! You will find lists of supplies we collect as well as videos highlighting how to build all 7 of our relief supply kits. Also, feel free to contact Rev. Brian Diggs, director at UMCOR West, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 801-973-7250 should you have further questions.
