Youth workers in the Mountain Sky Conference come in all shapes and sizes. Some are full time, half time, or volunteers. All are valued in the Mountain Sky Conference, and we are always looking for ways to connect, support and educate our youth workers so that they can thrive in their ministry field. Below you will find resources to equip, and strengthen your youth ministry program.
It is required that all local churches in the Mountain Sky Conference have their own Safe Sanctuary policy. If you do not have one, or would like to update your current policy please email youngpeople@mtnskyumc.org and we will work together to make that happen. A Safe Sanctuary Policy is simply a policy noting guidelines, and requirements for adult volunteers to adhere to in order to work with children, youth and vulnerable adults.

Safe Gatherings is an online comprehensive training platform– integrating abuse prevention and boundary awareness training with background checks and reference checks for all of your staff and volunteers working directly with children, youth, and vulnerable adults. It is recommended that Safe Gatherings be adopted by local churches, and integrated into their Safe Sanctuary Policy. Explore Safe Gatherings HERE.
*For all Mountain Sky Conference events (Ignite, YouthQuest, Convo, etc.) it is required that all adults attending have completed the Safe Gathering's requirements.
Adult co-sponsors for the Mountain Sky Youth Council serve for a two-year term, and serve in an advisory role to help develop young leaders in the MSYC. If you are interested in serving as a adult co-sponsor for the MSYC, please email youngpeople@mtnskyumc.org.
